Welcome to my studio! Pottery has taught me to be patient, to go with the flow, and keep calm and throw clay. One of my favorite things about making pottery is the way that the bisqueware is a canvas that you have made, then you get to paint your glazes onto that canvas and see what the kiln gods bring. Opening a ceramic glaze load from my kiln is like Christmas morning every time! And each time I pray that the kiln gods were kind!
Hi! I'm Kim Blais. I live in the beautiful town of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho with my husband and our kids. I have always loved the art of ceramics but had never really delved into being creative with clay until 2017. When we moved to Coeur d’Alene, I found a ceramics class and my love of pottery blossomed into a full blown passion for all things clay. I now have a pottery studio here at my home where I get to play with clay (when I am not homeschooling our two youngest boys). I have been experimenting with shapes, colors and styles ever since.
Making handmade art that people can use in their daily lives is such an amazing feeling. Sharing my creations with people is one of my favorite things! You can see some of my works below.
